Uneven Concrete Around Your Gas Pumps or Store Entrance?

Gas stations need safe, usable concrete every day. When concrete starts to sink, crack, or become uneven near pumps, sidewalks, parking areas, entrances, or dumpster pads, it can create problems fast.

Customers walk across these areas. Vehicles drive over them. Delivery trucks and service vehicles use them. If the concrete is uneven, it can create trip hazards, water pooling, drainage issues, and liability concerns.

The Concrete Team provides gas station concrete lifting, concrete leveling, mudjacking, slabjacking, void filling, and concrete repair services throughout Upstate New York. We help gas stations, convenience stores, and commercial property owners fix settled concrete without the cost and disruption of full replacement whenever possible.

Why Gas Station Concrete Sinks

Gas station concrete handles constant use. Cars, trucks, foot traffic, water, snow, ice, salt, and freeze-thaw cycles all add stress to the slabs.

Over time, the soil under the concrete can move or wash away. When the slab loses support, it can sink, tilt, or crack.

Common reasons gas station concrete settles include:

  • Heavy vehicle traffic near pumps and parking areas
  • Water washing soil out from under the slab
  • Poor drainage around the property
  • Freeze-thaw cycles during Upstate New York winters
  • Poor soil compaction under the original concrete
  • Voids forming below the slab
  • Heavy delivery trucks near entrances, dumpster pads, or service areas
  • Aging concrete around older commercial properties

Once the concrete starts to move, the problem usually does not fix itself. The sooner it is reviewed, the easier it may be to repair.

If your gas station also has cracked concrete, our concrete crack repair service may help. If water is getting into joints or gaps, joint sealing and caulking can help protect the concrete after lifting.

I cannot recommend Jim Denney and The Concrete Team highly enough! I’ve known Jim for many years, and as a Realtor, I’ve confidently referred him to my clients and I know he will exceeded expectations. Jim’s knowledge, experience, and workmanship are truly second to none. The quality of his work is exceptional, but what really sets him apart is the way he treats people. Home repairs, especially foundation or concrete issues can be overwhelming and emotional for homeowners. Jim has a remarkable ability to communicate clearly, explain complex issues in a way that’s easy to understand, and put people at ease. He never pressures anyone and always takes the time to help homeowners feel informed and confident about their decisions. Jim and his partner, Mike, are also two of the most honest, ethical people you’ll ever meet. Their integrity is unwavering, and they genuinely care about doing what’s right for their clients, not just getting the job done. In an industry where trust means everything, The Concrete Team stands in a class of its own. I give them my absolute highest recommendation and will continue referring them with complete confidence. They are simply the best.

Three years ago, I contacted The Concrete Team about some settling issues with my stamped concrete pool patio that had created a trip hazard in several high-traffic areas. They came out, evaluated the problem, and provided an estimate, but I never moved forward with the work at that time. After this past winter, the settling became noticeably worse. With a graduation party approaching, I wanted to get the issue fixed before guests arrived and risked tripping or falling. I called The Concrete Team expecting the price to have increased after three years, but to my surprise, they honored the original estimate and were able to fit me into their schedule on short notice. Their crew did an outstanding job. They were professional, efficient, and restored the patio for a fraction of the cost of replacing it. The finished product looks great, and most importantly, the trip hazards are gone. As a real estate agent, I’m always looking for trustworthy contractors to recommend to my clients, and The Concrete Team has absolutely earned my recommendation. If you have settled or uneven concrete, don’t wait—give them a call. You’ll be glad you did.

I had a fantastic experience with the concrete team! They did an amazing job mud jacking my front walkway. The pricing was very reasonable, they showed up on time, and the work was completed quickly and efficiently. The whole process was smooth from start to finish, and the results came out great. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price!"

Jim and Mike did an absolutely outstanding job on our front sidewalk and the garage floor entrance. They had to drill holes in our front sidewalk and then pressure install concrete underneath to raise them back up to the correct level. Not an easy task. But this was done exceptionally well. Then they applied an epoxy surfacer to even out all the salt erosion that had been happening. After this a sand surfacing was applied to the epoxy [white] to give the sidewalk the proper appearance - now tan. A truly exceptional job. Pete and Susie, Cohoes, NY

Signs Your Gas Station May Need Concrete Leveling

Uneven concrete at a gas station can affect safety, appearance, and daily use. It can also make the property look poorly maintained, even if the business is operating well.

You may need gas station concrete lifting if you notice:

    • Trip hazards near the store entrance
    • Sidewalk slabs that have shifted or dropped

Our Gas Station Concrete Lifting Process

Gas stations need repair work that is clear, planned, and as low-disruption as possible.
The Concrete Team specializes in mudjacking, also called slabjacking, so we can recommend the right method for the project.

Top Concrete Leveling Contractor Near Me

Step 1: Review the Problem Areas

We inspect the settled slabs, trip hazards, cracks, drainage concerns, pump areas, sidewalks, entrances, and vehicle-use areas. We look at how the concrete is being used and where support has been lost.

Step 2: Lift and Stabilize the Concrete

We use mudjacking, also called slabjacking, to raise and support sunken concrete. This process fills voids beneath the slab, helps stabilize the concrete, and brings uneven areas back toward the surrounding surface.

Step 3: Patch, Clean Up, and Review Next Steps

After the concrete is lifted, the holes are patched and the area is cleaned up. We can also discuss related repairs, such as crack repair, joint sealing, concrete sealing, or drainage concerns.

You can learn more about how lifting works on our concrete leveling process page.

    Benefits include:

    • Helps reduce trip hazards for customers and employees
    • Helps improve safety near pumps, entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas
    • Helps reduce water pooling and drainage issues
    • Can cost less than tearing out and replacing concrete
